FS: Rare 1970 Seiko 6139-6020 Automatic “Pulsation” chrono

A beautiful and rare 1970 Seiko Pulsation Chrono – one of a long line of chronographs using Seiko’s workhorse and bullet-proof 6139 chrono movement. This piece is a rare example of the 6020 Pulsation chronograph - so called because its rotatable inner bezel measures heartbeat/ pulse. A watch intended primarily for the medical profession. It is in excellent condition having been recently checked over and serviced by a watchmaker prior to my purchase.

These 6020 cases are much-sought after. Beautiful design, reminiscent of Heuers and other contemporary swiss brands. Seiko’s of that period have been much under-rated but their values have been creeping of late

Chrono functions perfectly – with hands zero-ing to 12 o’clock as expected. Everything works crisply. The chronograph keeps excellent time. Note that the dial is a new replacement Seiko dial - not the original. The movement is extremely clean. Date seting uses the standard Seiko quickset ( pushing in of central crown ). The bracelet is also a replacement Seiko Bracelet and not the original. The Inner bezel rotates smoothly by simply turning the crown.
The stainless steel case is in very good condition, no nasty tooling marks or scratches - for a watch that is over 40 years old, the case is in great condition. The crystal clean. The case measures 42mm across

These seiko’s are incredible value and becoming very collectible – the design and quality of the case and dial rival the 70’s Heuer and other higher-end brands. If you want that 70’s “racing –look” on your wrist - you do not have to spend a fortune!

I have many refs on this forum and others for sales and trades of vintage and high value watches. This is a beautiful vintage Seiko - and is great for either every day wear or as a collector’s piece.

You can get this classic time-piece for 420 USD shipping and paypal included. Please contact me if you are interested. No trades please.
