FS: Heuer Diver 980.022 ‘Black Bay’ (Custom)

Heuer Diver 980.022 ‘Black Bay’ (Custom)

This beautiful diver watch was Inspired by the Tudor Blackbay and of course by Stewart @ heuerville who made a similar conversion on a 980.021
The watch is a Heuer 980.022 which was originally gold plated. The watch is in good overall condition. The crystal has been recently replaced by my watchmaker so no scratches on it.
I'm not sure what the case is made out off, but its not stainless steel, the case has an orange peal like texture, Bezel is loose and moves either direction This could be fixed if you get the parts required spring and pin I believe to have the bezel ratchet like it should. The crown seems to be original to the watch and has lots of wear but still usable and functional. When I bought this watch it was in poor cosmetic state, which looked to be beyond hope to restore to original condition which I believed was a perfect candidate for my own Black Bay custom conversion.

This watch has lots of nice patina, the case has a unique texture different than the regular Stainless Steel the lume on the gilt dial is nice and original and has developed nice aged effect which I replicated on the new hands. The watch is all original minus the custom parts which are the golden snowflake hands and red bezel insert.

To view Stewart's conversion please check out https://heuerville.wordpress.com/tag/black-bay/

Watch details:
Case Diameter - 42mm (45.5 mm with crown)
Bezel - Originally Uni-directional (missing pin & spring so currently goes either direction freely)
Crystal - Mineral
Strap - 20mm Distressed Brown leather strap & Tropical braided Strap (Similar o the Tudor Blackbay)
Movement - Original Signed ESA 536.121 Quartz

As this is a Vintage time piece it does not come with guarantees and sold as is. Even though this is a Diver watch its not recommended to dive in it, I'm listing it as none waterproof, A competent watchmakers needs to re-seal and pressure test prior to diving with this watch. The watch keeps good time but I have not timed it for accuracy. I tend to overstate the watch faults to protect myself in case of picky buyers. Normally the watch turns up better than expected of my description. I did my best to describe this amazing watch as best as I could, Feel free to ask for any details.

$575 ONO

I accept PayPal. Will ship internationally - plenty of reference available

I'm a vintage Heuer collector and I'm selling a few of my watches to help fund a new purchase, this needs a new home.
