Please see our ChronoTrader Policies and Terms of Use. Learn more about How To Include Photos In Your Postings.

Rules: Postings must be an ad announcing an intent to sell, buy or trade. Full item description and photo(s) must be posted within the message here, not as links to other websites. Links to online auctions and other sites: Links to online auctions, dealer sites or other listings of items are permitted, but you should be careful to ensure that such listings will comply with our other ChronoTrader Policies. In addition, we request that sellers linking to online auctions or listings offer some benefit or accomodation to ChronoTrader readers (for example, some discount or an undertaking to end an auction early, to keep a watch "in the family"). FS: Vintage Breil Manta 50 bar - resin bezel - orange/black *PIC*

Watches will now be shipped without having been passed through a bullet-proof divider. All watches are guaranteed to have been worn in Connecticut and have been exposed to country air. All watches are guaranteed to be Ebola free.

Exhibit A: Breil Manta Professional Diving Watch - rated to 50 bar - unidirection bezel - screwed crown - 40mm bezel diameter - 20 mm lug - original bracelet marked with Breil logo to fit max 7.5" wrist (has diver's extension secured with a spring bar, which defeats it's easy use - which will make it fit a much larger wrist).

Watch from Italy. Sold as received. Crown is over-sized for this watch and may need adjusting as it screws down only a turn and a half or so, not the usual three. Movement is a 2872, which is very common for this era. Quick-set date. Non-hacking. Original hands and original lume means barely-there glow at night. Watch keeps great time, but on the odd occasion stops for a few minutes and then resumes keeping great time. I think the hands need adjusting. The bracelet is quite nice and original with all solid links, but has some hinky pins that could use replacing with correct spring bars. Works just fine, but could use some fine tuning. Basically can be worn as is - a wonderful and functional vintage watch that looks the business with its domed (scratched!) crystal and resin bezel, or can be sent to Jack for the full monty and you'll have one fine and relatively rare vintage diver.

I will ship anywhere, but if you are not in the US of A, I will require you to direct me as to how to ship the watch to your satisfaction and with limited liability on my part. Never had a problem, but the fine print on international is not the best news.

Other stuff. Price: $1300 or best offer. I'm happy to hear your offers or your insults or your life problems - I really don't mind an odd email or two. I used to offer people the opportunity to come to my brownstone and sample my vices and play me in a game of ping pong for discounts, but I've left the ping pong table in the backyard of the brownstone, so I can only invite you over for a face to face in front of the roaring fireplace and pour you some rye or we can meet somewhere and compete, like at a bowling alley or basement cock-fight in New Haven or the slot car track in Danbury - win for discounts, etc. I'm open to whatever.

email me your offers or say you'll take it. Would love it to go to a known home or at least someone I know of. If you know how to work on old Porsches, I'd gladly trade some wrenching tutorials for the watch.
