Vintage Heuer 980.023 Deep Dive Diver Watch 1000M

Original vintage Heuer 980.023 Deep Dive Diver Watch with plenty of character & patina. This beautiful diver watch is not for everyone, if your looking for a mint example look elsewhere, if your looking for patina and character this is for you, this watch is the rare early Heuer 980.023 this watch was definitely used and not a safe queen, classic black dial and bezel sun bleached with time, The watch is a great conversation piece. The case is evenly scratched all over, scuffed from hard use, Crystal seems to be new may have fine unnoticeable micro scratches Bezel ratchets as it should and Bezel insert is worn but still legible as pictured. Dial has a few minor discolorizations as if there is a washed out water drop mark. Still has the original signed quartz movement. Comes with a nice handmade distressed looking leather watch strap.

Some of the lume is missing on the minute hand can be relumed by your watchmaker if needed.

This model was considered a top of the line tool watch by Heuer, the catalog describing it as…

Water-resistance 1000 M (3300 ft), Quartz, date, stainless steel case, screw-in crown, uni-directional turning bezel 0-60 minute with ratchet. Mineral glass. Special: 1000m/quartz. As this is a Vintage time piece it does not come with guarantees and sold as is. Even though this is a Diver watch it’s not recommended to dive in it, I'm listing it as none waterproof, a competent watchmaker needs to re-seal and pressure test prior to diving with this watch. The watch keeps good time but I have not timed it for accuracy. I tend to overstate the watch faults to protect myself in case of picky buyers. Normally the watch turns up better than expected of my description. I did my best to describe this amazing watch as best as I could, Feel free to ask for any details.
