Hi all, up for sale is a great vintage Benrus Ultra Deep Super Compressor. Freshly serviced ETA 2472 automatic movement, EPSA case with original cross hatched crowns and diving helmet inscribed on the caseback. Original dial and hands, although hands appear relumed. This watch was recently used as the banner image on a Wound for Life article discussing vintage super compressors.
Condition is per the photos and as follows:
Case: 36mm EPSA super compressor diver case in good vintage condition with minor wear throughout. There are a number of small nicks and dings in the case consistent with years of wear as shown in the photos.
Bezel: Original internal bezel operated by the top crown in excellent condition as shown with smooth operation.
Dial and hands: Original dial and hand set. Dial is in excellent condition with even creamy patina on the hour markers. Original cathedral hands appear to be relumed and are slightly lighter in appearance than the dial markers.
Crystal: Original acrylic crystal with date magnifier in good vintage condition. There are minor surface scratches on the acrylic surface but no gouges, chips, or cracks.
Movement: Freshly serviced ETA 2472 automatic movement with all functions working as they should. The watch keeps excellent time.
Bracelet: Vintage beads of rice bracelet sized for a 7.25" wrist.
Accessories: Sold as watch only. Diving helmet not included :)
