FS: 1968 Omega Speedmaster Professional 145.022-68 Transitional

Hi all, up for sale is this excellent 1968 Omega Speedmaster Professional pre-moon, reference 145.022-68. This watch has the stepped and applied metal logo 321-style dial and an original dot over 90 bezel with the 861 movement. Best of both worlds!

Condition is per the photos and as follows:

Case: Original case in excellent condition with sharp edges, crisp brushing and bright polished areas on the twisted lugs.

Bezel: Original dot over 90 configuration bezel in good condition with minor scratching and missing paint as shown.

Dial/Hands: Original stepped dial with applied metal logo and hour markers extending to the edge. The markers have developed to a wonderful creamy patina and the dial is extremely clean and free from marks and stains. The hands are original tritium, with the chrono seconds and hour hands developing a matching creamy patina and a darker patina on the minute hand.

Caseback: Original pre-moon seamonster caseback in good condition that shows minor wear. All engravings are present and crisp. Marked 145.022-68 inside.

Crystal: Brand new OEM Omega hesalite crystal in perfect condition. Crystal has the embossed Omega symbol in the center.

Movement: Cal. 861 movement functioning well and keeping great time. All functions work as they should and the chronograph resets to zero. Movement is running at COSC spec but there is no documented service history. Movement serial number is 265XXXXX.

Bracelet/Strap: Like new vintage style leather strap.

Accessories: None, sold as watch and bracelet only.

Price is $5500 shipped CONUS via PayPal or wire (3% discount for wire). US sale preferred, international sales will pay the cost of shipping. Face to face in the Boston area also welcome. I have plenty of references available. Please feel free to ask any questions. Thanks for looking!
