FS: 1960s UG Space Compax mkI

Up for sale is my 1960s Universal Geneve Space Compax manual wind stainless steel chronograph.

I bought this super cool watch last month from Andee at ‘Rare Birds’. I’m sure you know the website. Andee’s photos of the watch are still viewable there, as is his description.

To be short, I do really like this watch, but I have some expensive collecting targets this month, and something has to give…

So, if you are looking for a Space Compax, here it is! Not easy to find.

Everything is working here except that that is a tiny metal tube missing from the lower pusher. This necessitates unscrewing the pusher cover to reset the chrono mechanism. (See also Andee’s description). I’ve spoke to a watchmaker here and apparently it is possible to machine a replacement part. I haven’t done that yet, and will leave that task to the new owner.

Although there are photos still up at Rare Birds, please find below additional detail photos taken by me.

Please get in touch if you have questions.

If you are in Hong Kong you are welcome to arrange with me to view the watch in person. Also, I am travelling to Germany on business next week, and could meet in the Frankfurt International (FRA) Airport the morning of Thursday 15th November if that helps (or could ship to within the EU from there).

Price is what I paid for it last month -- 10,500 Euros.

Thanks for looking, and thank you to the mods for the space here.
