FS: 1st few batches of Seiko 6139-6000 Chronograph

Hi guys I’ve decided to part with a very nice piece that is considered as Seiko’s first ever automatic chronographs produced in history.

This was Seiko’s first few batches that was launched in 1969 (first batch was in February), this beauty left the factory in May 1969, that very first year, Seiko rolled out their first ever chronographs for the Japanese market!

These models were only sold only in Japan before the 6139-6002 arrived on the world scene.

A couple of points to note for this 100% all original head:]

- Stainless steel with notched case only for early models (little smile just above the crown). The case is has been lightly brushed on the face top and it really look stunning. And the sides and lugs are in reasonable shine. The back-case has normal use with light scratches, you can read the serial number 953298.

- Dimpled crown (very unusual) if you see carefully, in the middle it slightly sink in. Before pulling out to adjust, the crown can be turn from left to right by the tip of your finger, and this will activate the internal bezel to move along with it too.

- This comes with a replaced mineral crystal.
- The deep blue dial is very clean and in very good condition too.
- The lume still intact and quite clean. All indexes and markers are still beautiful.
- Seiko Speedtimer indicated in red below the 12 marker.
- 5 SPORTS WATER 70 PROOF at 9 o'clock.
- The small minute counter on left and right showing JAPAN 6139B at 7 o'clock and at 5 o'clock showing 6000T model type.

- Early rolled out batches has hour & minute hands that are matte type and not shinny ones. You can see the red second hands are the 2 piece type of hands (with metal on top).

- The 6139A 21J movement is running strong & keeping excellent time. It has been regulated by my watchmaker. It starts as soon as the watch is shaken. Movement has been cleaned and new gaskets replaced. This movement was only used for JDM models, and you can read "21J" on the dial under the center of the hands.

- The quickset day/date is also working fine. You can set the day in Kanji or in English.
-The bracelet is using the 6139-6002 type which is signed seiko.

- Price: Accepting offers starting from USD 1,000 (I include tracking & shipping worldwide)

Kelvin
