FS: Vintage JLC Lecoultre Art Deco 14k Gold Square Watch c.

For sale today I have a Jaeger Lecoultre Solid 14k Gold Square Art Deco Watch c. 1951.

It has been recently serviced and is keeping excellent time. Dial, movement, crown, hands, are all original to the best of my knowledge, and are signed correctly. You can see below in photos, the movement is absolutely stunning. I believe it is NOS, or has been sitting in storage for a long long time, hence it's mint condition.

'Lecoultre' was JLC's arm in the USA at this time, the name shortened for tax purposes (to my knowledge). They were still manufactured by Jaeger Lecoultre.

DETAILS:

- approx 38x33mm, 18mm lug width, slightly under 8mm thick.

- to the best of my knowledge, dial/case/crown/movement is all factory original

- will include faux black leather after market strap

IS IT A REDIAL?

No - I've been asked multiple times and indeed falsely accused of this watch being a redial. Several factors to consider:

- See below photos of dials with exact copies of the Le Coultre logo. These are EXACT copies, meaning the logo was not hand painted but at the very least printed

- the numerals '12, 3, 9' are slightly rounded in the centre of their paint. I've tried to capture this in light of one of the photos below, they have certainly been printed and not hand applied

- the two tone centre square is indeed slightly off centre, but this is not uncommon for watches of the 40s and 50s. Moreover, the varying satin/matte finishes of the two sectors of the dial, would be nigh impossible to reproduce without factory level equipment.
