Please see our ChronoTrader Policies and Terms of Use. Learn more about How To Include Photos In Your Postings.

Rules: Postings must be an ad announcing an intent to sell, buy or trade. Full item description and photo(s) must be posted within the message here, not as links to other websites. Links to online auctions and other sites: Links to online auctions, dealer sites or other listings of items are permitted, but you should be careful to ensure that such listings will comply with our other ChronoTrader Policies. In addition, we request that sellers linking to online auctions or listings offer some benefit or accomodation to ChronoTrader readers (for example, some discount or an undertaking to end an auction early, to keep a watch "in the family"). FS: Zenith Defy automatic

Offered for sale is my Zenith Defy time and date automatic wristwatch.

This is a great example of the cool late ’60 to early ‘70s style, a fun piece to wear.

The 37mm octagonal stainless steel case features a beveled domed thick crystal, signed screw down crown, and signed and serial numbered screw in case back, giving it a dive watch feel. The case, to my eye, is still well defined and crisp, with the usual attendant small scratches you might expect for a watch of this age.

The dial appears sand through khaki green in colour, depending on the light. Special ridged applied markers shimmer in the light. Lume dots (1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11) are in place, and match the biscuit gold tone of the lume in the hour, minute and second hands. Date wheel also has a pleasing patina in keeping with the rest.

Debut for this watch was 1968 with the in house 21,600bph 23-jewel Zenith cal.2552PC movement, which is the one found in this watch. (From 1971 the movement was the high beat cal.2562 at 28,800bph, which was printed on the dial in those models).

I have recently had the watch serviced and it is keeping good time.

Asking USD 1,950 by bank transfer. Shipping (on top) is from Hong Kong, where I am based. Import taxes/ costs, are, of course, your own additional expense.

Returns only accepted within 3 days of receipt if item is not as described and is returned in the same exact condition as it was originally sold. Refunds will be considered upon a full inspection and will amount to the purchase price minus shipping and handling costs. Buyer is responsible for the return postage, insurance, and safe delivery of the watch back to me.

I have bought and sold watches here, and I am happy to answer questions by email, and to provide references upon request.

Thank you,
Linden
