Re: FS: FS: Rare Seiko baby panda 6138-8001 w/railway track
In Response To: (Message Deleted by Poster) ()

This is an elusive, ultra rare and hard to find Seiko 6138-8001. I am quite sure that this particular model was only exclusively made in March 1975 (as there are no other manufacturing dates to be found).

If you compared it with the Seiko 6138-8000, which is also a baby panda, the hands are different, the 12 markers on the dial are without any lumed dots.
And if you notice, the tachymeter is not the same too. Therefore parts from the baby panda, like the crystal, ring holder & the tachymeter, they can’t fit into this 8001 model.

The case seems to be wider and it is much heavier in weight. Case size is 44MM x 43MM (with crown) and is in excellent conditon which brushed lines on the case is still intact. Resetting of the chronograph is working very well. But service history is unknown. Although the observation on time accuracy seems acceptable, like 2 minutes difference after all. This already come with its orginal crystal unchanged when i got it.

I love the bracelet the most, as it looks to me like a railway track on your wrist. Just look at the condition of it! It will go very well in either casual or executive attire. Blending perfectly in whatever clothing stlye you may put on.

This should definitely be a collectible… As this is an all original, perfect and excellent condition after 42 years (just look at the dial which is flawlessly clean & new if you use the magnifier) and if anyone who wants to complete the collection of a panda family!
