FS: Tropical Omega Seamaster 120m Quartz 1332 Pre-Calypso/Mayol

Up for grabs is a unusual Omega Seamaster 120m Quartz with a beautiful tropical dial, caliber 1332, ref. 396.0913 (link to omegawatches.com).

I find this watch very interesting. Dated approx 1980, it appears to have set the line of the future omega quartz divers like the so-called Calypso and Jacques Mayol with which it shares not only tha cailber but also the style of the case and of the bracelet.

Dial. It feautures an unsual dial with date at 3, arabic numerals at 6/9, and luminous indices with a triangle at 12. The dial turned to a beautiful coffee brown color with lighter colored "flames" in correspondence of the hour indices. The photos show its appearence in different light conditions. The luminous material is intact and glow faintly in the dark.

Movement. The caliber 1332, shared with other famous Omega quartz divers, is a quartz movement with 17 jewels. It feautures a fast hours setup through the crown and a pusher for the setup of the minutes. The serial 443***** dates the watch aprrox to 1980. The movement appears in good conditions and works fine.

Case. The case diameter is about 36mm. As shown in the pictures, it is overall in very good condition with few little scratches.

Bracelet. The bracelet, ref 1366/373, is original to the watch and in very good condition. It fits a wrist up to 18cm.

Correctness. The watch appears all original: case, glass, hands, crown, bezel, bracelet, and movement appear correct to the watch. To this concern however, it should be noted the discrepancy between the caseback engraved with the number 1337 and the actual caliber of the watch 1332. Given the correctness of the watch reference inside the caseback and the correct caliber of the movement (as per omega vintage database), I believe that the discrepancy may be due to this model being produced during a transitional period between calibers 1332 and 1337.

Srvice history. I don't know the service history of the watch but the battery has the date 5/17 written on it. The watch works fine and keep time as expected from a quartz movement.

Price. I am looking for 750 eur shipped to EU for this watch.

Please have a look at the high resolution pictures, they are part of the description. You can zoom-in to see the details.
