Last of the legendary Carrera line made by Heuer, 510.523 was released in 1983 just one year before being bought by TAG. This Carrera has a very rugged tool watch design with an extremely readable dial and features the excellent Lemania 5100 movement. Measuring at 38mm with a 20mm lug-width, the case is a rugged stainless steel cushion design that is well balanced and sits comfortable on the wrist. The chronograph pushers are firm and crisp. This watch includes two bands: the original metal bracelet and a new rally style leather band fitted with a Heuer buckle. The bracelet has a TAG Heuer clasp but it is most likely original since these watches where sold still after the accusation by TAG in 1984. When TAG ran out of Heuer signed parts they would use TAG Heuer ones instead. The leather band is hand made by B&R Bands and beautifully complements this watch.

The Lemania 5100 movement can withstand up to 7G's of force and it is almost completely impervious to shocks, allowing the watch to withstand large amounts without the chronograph second hand stopping. The robust design also allows it to go 7 years between servicing. Fitted with 17 jewels, this movement has a 48 hour power reserve, and runs at 28,800A/h, making it a hi-beat movement. The automatic winding rotor is signed Lemania Watch LTD Swiss and has a serial number of 04031828.

This watch is in excellent condition. The crystal has a small crack near the 6 o-clock position and several small scratches but the dial is still easily readable. The dial is in perfect condition with no signs of wear or aging. The case has just a few minor nicks around the edge. The movement is in perfect condition and is keeping excellent time, running for over 24 hours and only gaining 3 seconds. All chronograph functions work perfectly. There are no service records and I don't know when it was last serviced. Because of the condition of the crystal I would not take this watch in the water.

Please let me know if you have any questions and thank you for looking.
