FS: Longines Weems Mk VIIA South African Air Force Wristwatch c. *LINK*

Dear All,

For sale is this very rare Longines Weems SAAF (South African Air Force) Mk VIIA wristwatch c.1940.

The watch was issued to pilots and navigators of the RAF at the outbreak of hostilities during World War Two. It features a moveable outer bezel which is set to the seconds hand to calculate longitude in order to aid navigation. The example for sale was subsequently re-issued to the South African Air Force. This is indicated by the additional markings “AF1410” and down arrow within a U shape on the case back.

The watch for sale is in excellent overall condition.

The dial is in beautiful condition without any obvious flaws or blemishes.

As expected, there are a number of minor scratches and marks to the outer casing of the watch.

The glass is in very good condition with no obvious scratches.

The beautiful blue steel hands are in excellent condition and are correct to the original specification of the watch.

The 12.68N calibre movement is currently running well and keeping excellent time.

Please see photos below:

The watch is listed for sale on our website priced at £5,950 which includes a newly fitted NATO strap and quality hand-made leather watch pouch. This price includes free shipping for members of Chronotrader!
