This Seiko Ref. 6217-8000, more commonly known as the 62MAS, is the first execution of a dive watch produced under the Seiko name and is absolutely remarkable. The 62MAS first came into the market in 1965 and was an essential building block for all Seiko divers since and the brand as a whole. The 6217 in-house movement features a non-hacking movement with quickset date, and the no crown guards case embodies everything we love about early dive watches.

CASE & BRACELET

The excellent case exhibits signs of a very light polishing early on, retaining thick lugs and showing light wear. The original bezel has some light patina and retains its original tritium pearl which has taken on a creamy coloration. The watch will come on a vintage tropic strap of the correct era which only shows mild use.

DIAL & HANDS

The gorgeous grey sunburst dial is in stunning vintage condition. The original tritium lume plots have taken on a charming green patina and exhibit no lume degradation under U.V. light inspection. The original tritium hands match the dial perfectly, under U.V. light inspection the minute hand shows very minimal and minor cracking in the lume, the hour and sweep seconds hand are fully intact.
