Hodinkee Skipper LE ("Skipperrera") -- Blue Paint Done Right

We know that Heuer had trouble with the blue paint in the 1960s and 1970s, but clearly they figured it out by 2017!! The dial on this one is absolutely amazing!!

For the newcomers, this is the Hodinkee Limited Edition Skipper, from June 2017, with 125 of the watches being produced. It's based on the original Skipperrera from 1968, with some liberties appropriately taken (30 minute register instead of 15 minute countdown and addition of the date function). But the colors are very close to the ones used in 1968 and you can see the amazing starburst / metallic blue paint.

At the bottom, we show an original Skipperrera from 1968. You can see more of the original Skipperreras in our Gallery of Skipperreras -- http://www.onthedash.com/chronograph/skipper-ref-7754/.

Wishing everyone a wonderful last few days of summer!!

Jeff
