You are right -- there is something about the color and texture of the midnight blue, metallic paint that is mesmerizing!! So interesting to see what Heuer was trying to do with the blue dials in the late 1960s, with the Skipperrera, then the Monaco and then the Silverstone.

They had mixed success in getting the midnight blue paint to stay in place, but the different ways that the paint aged are fascinating. Yours is very dramatic looking!!

Enjoy this amazing watch!!

: Still a little hard to believe but I finally acquired an 1133B, and
: a Transitional nonetheless! This has definitely been a grail
: watch for me--it's fascinated me for a long time.

: I missed a few opportunities in the past (a couple of which still
: haunt me) but saw this one offered by another Heuer
: enthusiast/collector, who was just an absolute pleasure to deal
: with, and I found myself constantly looking at it to the point
: where I really wanted it.

: While the dial is far from perfect, the metallic blue dial is no
: less captivating--it shows so many different shades of blue
: depending how the light hits it. It is in one word, mesmerizing!

: I'm very excited to own this iconic watch as part of my very small
: vintage Heuer collection.
