Might be "Too Far Gone"
In Response To: advice on this Autavia 3646 ()

I like patina / natural aging as much as the next guy, but to my eye this Autavia appears to be "too far gone." In particular, the registers (sub-dials) seem to have suffered considerable damage.

If this watch appeals to you, I can understand your considering buying it. My only caution is that if and when the time comes to sell the watch, you may have a very limited audience for a watch in this condition. A lot of people prefer mint or near mint condition, and they would stay away from this watch.

Of course, if you like the looks and are not concerned about the prospect of selling it, then you should go for the watch. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and if you like the looks, that's what really matters.

Please let us know what happens with this one.

: I'm considering buying this Autavia 3646 and I was wondering if
: someone more educated than I am on Heuer might notice anything I
: haven't regarding the condition. The dial is in so-so shape and
: the second hand appears to be missing its tip. The crown is
: unsigned but I'm not sure if that's a problem. As far as I can
: tell the case seems to be in okay condition but I'm happy to be
: corrected.
