the case has changed, too.

i previously owned an automatic from '94 as well as a current automatic. the case itself was thinner back then and the caseback had a much more domed profile. the current model has a thicker case and a flatter caseback. the overall thickness is similar, but the current one takes up more volume, wears a little bigger, and looks better IMO.

i'll have to dig out some side-by-side pictures to show the differences in this regard.
