No Sugar Coating ==>> More Fake than Frank
In Response To: Heuer or Frankenheuer *PIC* ()

David:

Not much way to sugar coat this one -- it seems to ba a pure fake (with no identifiable Heuer pieces). The Carrera was introduced in 1963; no Carrera ever used this case; the markers, hands and printing on the dial look wrong (after-market).

You have a fantastic collection (from what I have seen), including what is probably the rarest of all the Carreras (triple date; white dial, with black registers), but I would not call this one a Heuer.

Sorry about that.

Jeff

: I bought this watch last year with the
: description of it being a late 50's Carrera.
: Has the correct case and pushers for that
: era, but was a Carrera ever produced in the
: 50's? Have yet to open the watch and look at
: the movement. Any insight will be most
: appreciated.
: Happy Holidays.
