Re: I doubt its psychology
In Response To: Psychology ()

: Thanks for the excellent reply.

: Talking about psychology, I think I can relate
: to what you say.

: For me the psychological drawback of a
: "not-100%-original" piece, is not
: that it "doesn't feel right" but
: the feel that this watch has been
: "abused". Of course a watch with
: all original parts could have been abused as
: well (maybe more) by a careless owner or an
: incompetend watchmaker etc. but by looking
: at a modified watch I often wonder "how
: much wear did the watch suffer during the
: modification"?

: On the other hand I sometimes consider a
: modified watch as "piece unique" -
: no other watch in the world is like it!

: You made a great point talking about
: psychology.
: Since we have an obsession (with watches) we
: may find more answers in psychology than in
: logic.

Hi, i dont think the problem is with the psycology but more the obsession.........it does not really matter to the majority of people whether they wear a heuer or a tag heuer or a huuuuerr, so to speak, the problem lies with the guys that collect watches.....some may collect copies, some heuer copies, some all original heuers or some swatch originals, it dont really matter unless the person collecting prefers. Who is to say that an all original heuer is of anymore value to someone that collects non-descript timepieces, who cares just as long as the collector is happy with their bit!!!!. Anyhow what do i know.........just surfing along the happiness of others, hehe.....Take care all, J.
