Re: I'm Not Trying to Sound Holy
In Response To: I'm Not Trying to Sound Holy ()

Jeff, Don't forget the Ferrari body kit on the Fiero. I can see the ad on Ebay now. FS: Tag Kirium. Like new condition. Bought at an estate sale. No box. No papers. No reserve.

I don't understand the argument that Tag is ripping everyone off by charging so much and then buying the Tag name when purchasing a watch. If Tag (Rolex, Panerai, etc) rips people off, don't buy them. $130 will buy a nice Seiko.

: I'm not trying to sound holy, but if you extend
: this logic, you can also enjoy running
: stolen software, listening to pirated music,
: and looking at the forged art on the wall.
: This may be OK, and all of us may have
: indulged from time to time, but at least
: give some credit to the folks who created
: the originals -- whether software, music,
: artists or TAG-Heuer. The guys making the
: fakes may be good at making the fakes, but
: they can do some real damage to those who
: are creating the original works. So buy what
: you want and wear what makes you happy, but
: give some credit to Heuer and McQueen. They
: are the creative ones; the other guys are
: just making copies of their works and
: sponging off their mystique.

: all this, in my humble opinion.
