i'm not sure what you mean by, "Now if I can just figure out the GMT setting.....?" the gmt hand will set automatically when you set the time. it won't set independently, at least not on mine and yours should be the same as it's a valjoux 724. then rotate the bezel to whatever timezone you wish. i keep mine set to my own, but that's just me. so at midnight in my timezone the gmt hand will be pointing at "24."
