i'm part of that problem....
In Response To: Where will it end???. ()

less than a year ago i was happily collecting date/time only 60's era timepieces, brand mattered little. one day i saw Jeff's seafarer in a post on timezone, Boom! the lights went on, i was hooked. once i went to the otd site and saw all the wonderful examples that existed my wallet got thinner and thinner.:) so i've added to that frenzy a bit, sorry.:)

i think though that there are those who really like them and those who don't. my reasoning, i've posted multiple pics with desriptions on other watch forums and get little to no response. other people post a commonplace new ebel and the posters go crazy, figure that one out?:) my point being is that the heuers are only going to attract those who would have found them on their own one day anyway. they already liked them, they just didn't know it yet.

maybe the siffert with the wrong bezel was a fluke? could be that there are alot of loomers here that don't post and read the chatter here as to how rare these suckers are and that added to the high finish? plus the weak dollar helped i think? i saw a siffert go on the tz sc for $499.99 all original with the original bracelet. for some reason the ebay selling method raises the bar a bit to quite a bit over straight add selling. i'm going to watch the next one with a close eye and see if there is a distinct pattern emerging.:)
