SomeThoughts...
In Response To: Tag heuer GMT? ()

Can someone explain what a GMT watch or GMT function is.

Depends on the type of GMT watch...

The Rolex GMT-Master, Heuer Autavia GMT, etc. type have a second hour hand that rotates around the dial once every 24-hours. This allows you to keep track of Military time, or the time in a second timezone via the 24-hour bezel.

The Rolex GMT-Master-II, Omega Seamaster GMT, etc. have an independently setable second hour hand that you can set to the 24-hour time in a second timezone, and be able to read what time it is in that timezone.

What and how does this function work. I have a Tag heuer GMT with the extra hand.Thank you fred

Hopefully this short explanation is useful enough to get the idea across, if not, feel free to ask!

Cheers!
