I like them all too Shaun
In Response To: Oval sub dials ()

Though it took me a while to "get" the third generation Carreras. They don't have that timeless quality of the second and especially the first gen watches, but are firmly rooted in the 70s - and that has an appeal of its own too, that they are so of their time.

Yep Stewart - the dials themselves are round but the oval registers echo the polished upper surface of the case and both together give something of an illusion that the dial is oval too. The PVD is the exception to the rule with round registers and a script style more usually found on later watches. It uses the same style of lume "stick" as the 74033/740.303 PVD Monaco, with the same propensity for breaking so good to have one with what looks to be intact lume.

Shaun, I have written an upcoming article for Calibre 11 on the CdG dials - would be nice to include that group shot if I can have your permission?
