Cool franken?
In Response To: I like them all too Shaun ()

Thanks Mark,

I've always thought that the PVD versions dial would look amazing in an early Carrera case if there were a crown hole on the left (or Autavia). I wouldn't normally promote a franken, but that would look rather cool!

Stewart

: Though it took me a while to "get" the third generation
: Carreras. They don't have that timeless quality of the second
: and especially the first gen watches, but are firmly rooted in
: the 70s - and that has an appeal of its own too, that they are
: so of their time.

: Yep Stewart - the dials themselves are round but the oval registers
: echo the polished upper surface of the case and both together
: give something of an illusion that the dial is oval too. The PVD
: is the exception to the rule with round registers and a script
: style more usually found on later watches. It uses the same
: style of lume "stick" as the 74033/740.303 PVD Monaco,
: with the same propensity for breaking so good to have one with
: what looks to be intact lume.

: Shaun, I have written an upcoming article for Calibre 11 on the CdG
: dials - would be nice to include that group shot if I can have
: your permission?
