It was seeing Jo Siffert's Autavia that made McQueen want a Heuer to complete his gear in Le Mans, but as Michael says, he selected the Monaco from a box that Gerd-Rüdiger Lang took to the set rather than getting it directly from Siffert.

Nice to have a car with a connection to an F1 driver though, good luck with the research!
