I usually tend to the "the cleaner, the better" approach. So, I think the removal of the red tips and the crown ring as an improvement. The tachy adds functionality, and fits well in a racing tool - a quite expensive tool, indeed... :)
I hope not to see it in a blue dial like that. If blue is the trend, like they said, well, I´ve seen blue Carreras before - and in a much more beautiful hues.
