Seems OK to me if this watch was really designed to be used by pilots, who wanted these big watches so that they would be easier to see. Wasn't this size (or approximately this size) fairly standard for the many of the pilots / navigators watches that we see for the World War Two era? Yes, many pilots watches were smaller, but this one seems consistent with the Lacos, Langes, Hanharts, etc.
