Heuer Carrera 7753S issued to Victorian Railway workers

This is my first post although I have been lurking around here for a few years gaining knowledge and a few Heuers along the way. Interestingly I started out looking for a Monaco 113B or blue Silverstone and yet have somehow acquired neither watch and probably never will now the way the prices are going. However I have managed to pick up a few other interesting Heuers over the years and have derived a lot of pleasure from getting to know the other models. The purpose of this post is that I have recently acquired a Heuer that I thought might be of interest to the community.

This is a Carrera 7753S that was part of a batch that were apparently issued to station masters and guards who worked for the Victorian Railway Company, the local railway operator here back in the late 60s and 70s. A few of these watches turned up in a sale of a railway watch collection last year and with the help of Rory Macdonald, an excellent local watchmaker, I was lucky enough to acquire this 7753S stamped VRC 19 from the collection as it had by far the best dial of all the 7753s in there, Rory also did a lovely sympathetic restoration on the watch for me and the watch is now on one of Giuliano's fabulous straps. I saw a case back stamped VRC 22 in the railway watch collection so the VRC obviously acquired a fair few of these 7753S for use by staff at the time, must have been rather nice to be issued with such a lovely watch to help time those train services to Bendigo and Ballarat.

I am very, very happy with this particular watch and feel very fortunate to have been able to acquire such a nice Carrera with an interesting piece of local history attached, however can't seem to post pictures in the image section so links below, I do hope they work......
