What happens at TAG-Heuer? on Monochrome Watches

I've just read this article by Brice Goulard on Monochrome Watches. http://monochrome-watches.com/happens-tag-heuer-unemployment-layoffs-repositioning/
Although all the strategy/marketing speech can make sense, I'm still puzzled with this decision of aborting the CH80 mvt production and laying off R&D professionals. So, from now on, will it be "technologie d' meme chose"-Heuer?
What are your thoughs?

Have you all a nice week!
