Most everybody else does use pre-Carrera to refer to the 404 and its ilk Darren, as in the watches immediately prior to the Carrera, rather than the 2447. It's not the most precise of terms though, it seems that anything that came before the Carrera can and has been referred to as a pre-Carrera on eBay!

That's what we have here Tomasz, an early 404 with a dial that has suffered somewhat over the years. Later examples had dials more similar to the first Carreras.
