When I saw this new Carrera, with its telemeter scale, it reminded me of this Patek "Multi-Scale" chronograph, introduced a few months ago.

Over the last 100 years, Patek does not seem to have made many chronographs with a telemeter scale. Of course, there has never been a Carrera with a Telemeter scale.

It made me wonder why the sudden interest in these telemeter scales, used primarily to determine the distance of an opposing artillery force?
