It's really hard for me to say, since...
In Response To: valued opinion ()

Hi, please be gentle with me i am very new to this watch forum and have never previously posted. I have been thinking about purchasing a new heuer from a seller on ebay item no : 2653244541, i would just like an opinion whether this watch is reasonably priced or not, i understand if this does not interest you guys but any help would be greatly appreciated. I did e-mail Chuck once and found him to be more than helpful, take care, James.

It's really hard for me to say, since it is a non-chronograph and quartz... The latter doesn't faze me but the first is nearly a killer for any interest I personally have. Which if you look at it one way, I won't be competing for this example, is a good thing.

Let's take this at face value... A vintage time/date only Heuer Quartz essentially never worn with box papers, instructions, warrantee that came with the watch and the overhaul receipt.

How much would it cost you to buy a time/date only Quartz TAG-Heuer today if you went to your local Authorized dealer? Probably somewhere in the opening bid range of this example. Do you like the looks of this example? Better or not as much as current models? What is it worth to you? All other aspects aside in the end it only really matters if you like the watch enough to bid and bid competitively. Of course there is the tactic in not bidding, and hoping that the seller will relist the watch with a lower starting bid. Which can backfire if someone else pops in the starting or a bid just minimally over the starting bid.

By means of comparision, one could get a brand new (non-authorized dealer) example of the WK1110.BA0317 or WK1111.BA0317 TAG-Heuer 2000 for $617 from Ashford. I am not sure if that model is Quartz or an Automatic. But if you like the one on eBay, you like the one on eBay.

I know I haven't been long on the detail directly pertaining to your query. But at worse, you have something to read until someone who does comes along!

Good Hunting

-- Chuck

P.S. For what it's worth, the one on eBay does look sharp...
