Abundant Parts; Constant Service -- Buy What Looks Good!!
In Response To: Heuer Bunds ()

My own (uninformed) view of the Bunds is that parts were and are abundant, and the watches must have been serviced regularly when they were being used in the military, so I am at a loss to even use the words "original" and "authentic" to describe any of them . . . if we are trying to suggest that any Bund is "as it was when it left the factory". I am not sure that such a watch exists, but I am happy to be corrected.

My own view -- they are great looking watches; they are affordable and easy to find (at least compared with other vintage Heuer models); so find one that you like, don't worry too much about where it has been since it left the factory . . . and enjoy it!!

Mine is on the right; new arrival found for a friend is on the left . . . in the details, you will see many difference between them . . . both look great to me!! [Sorry about the awful gray lighting today]

: What's the deal with all these absolutely mint Heuer Bunds? I know
: parts were swapped around when they were serviced by the
: military etc, but there are so many absolutely mint looking
: Bunds that one can't help but ask the question 'how so?'

: And for the propose of full disclosure, I own one of these 'mint
: bunds' - perfect case, perfect dial, strong lume'. I doubt these
: bunds age any better than any other Heuer or were taken better
: care of en masse than any other tool watch of their vintage, so
: what's the deal?
