I Hate to Sound Like a Lawyer . . .
In Response To: holy sh## ()

I hate to sound like a lawyer, but the original eBay purchaser has a binding contract with the eBay seller, and should pressure the seller to deliver the watch. Of course, when your recourse is to a court in Serbia, perhaps the pressure will not be realistic.

I agree that it is a capital offense, punishable by death (or something close to that) for anyone to interfere with the contract that another person has entered into with a third party. I believe that in most instances, the explanation is not jealousy, but pure greed.

For what it's worth, I just sent seller a simple message asking whether the watch is available for sale or has been sold. His two word reply -- "not sold", which reinforces my view that the original eBay buyer should press to enforce his contract. Perhaps the only threat is to have the seller banned from eBay, but if you are in Serbia, and this is your only market, perhaps that threat has some power.

Sorry that this has happened and I certainly hope that it was not a member of this community that interfered with the transaction.

Jeff
