The early hex back Carrera was on my radar, all in at 12,500CHF and thought I may have a chance until a bidder popped the price 2,000CHF from 10,000CHF. I thought the condition was very nice, with the dial and hands very clean (I had hoped the coffee aged lume would turn off bidders). Case was fairly sharp with very little signs of polishing. I have to start wrapping my head around these prices.....just have a hard time paying $14,900 for this watch when I sold a 2447SN, 21 months ago for $14,600.
Looks like I have to wait until November when a 53,xxx serial number 2447S will come under the hammer. Until then I am off to HKG in two weeks to enjoy some dim sum and a couple of auctions.
Hope some of the Heuer's made it into the OTD family.
