Hello Bernard

I fully agree that the usual auction house descriptions much too often miss out or even misrepresent. If you dig a little deeper on the Bonhams page for this lot and download and read the condition report though, you will - amongst more blablabla - also find the following statement regarding this watch:

"The dial, crown and bezel insert are service replacements".

No question: it is a shame that they bury this deep down inside where most people will not see/read it.
