Good Memories, Stewart!!

Yes, those were the good old days . . . I thin of waking up in the middle of the night to but the dashboard pairs for $1,200 to $1,600, and wondering about all these automatic Autavias being listed in the $300 to $500 range. Those were the days when I thought that my wrists were too small for the Autavias, and so it took me a couple of years to take the plunge.

Our lack of information was amazing . . . we knew little of models and executions, or what was correct or incorrect for a particular watch. But at these prices, these matters seemed less critical.

Good memories.

Jeff

: I remember buying my first 'big money' Heuer from Rich.. it was a
: mint Fume Silverstone, priced at around £3k - This was a big
: step for me. This was a lot of £ for a Heuer, and I spoke to
: Rich on the phone, I remember him saying that he had to sell a
: few watches, as his wife wanted a new kitchen... now she can buy
: a new house!!

: Both Rich and Paul extended the warmest of welcomes to me, and
: although I've never actually met them, I feel we have that early
: Heuer bond, and I'd call them friends. We have traded info,
: watches, and above all, a love for the brand over the years.

: I wish them both well in this special auction.

: PS. Heuer stories... I remember selling an early 3446 with dauphine
: hands.. I remember Paul saying it was a bit too much money at
: around £2k. I also remember turning down a watch from Rich, as
: I thought it was to much money - it was a 2446 with the super
: rare tachy dial, I think he wanted £4k for it!

: Oh, if we all had a time machine!!
