Re: Have Visited Plaza 57 At Least 10 Times

Twilight zone in there. Some really cool watches but you feel like you're locked (literally and figuratively) into some sort of twisted game of cat and mouse.

: I have visited Plaza 57 (or is it Plaza Jewelers??) at least 10
: or 12 times, over the last 14 years [yes, I remember the date of
: my first visit], and it is truly the most bizarre experience in
: the vintage watch collecting world. Manager / owner Lee is a
: unique character.

: Two or three times, I have left there with nice watches at
: reasonable prices; the other 10 times, walking out the door felt
: like an escape from a torture chamber, and I swore off any
: future visits. So bizarre . . . so absurd . . . so impossible to
: describe for anyone who hasn't experienced it . . . but it's the
: occasional success that always motivates the next visit.
