After 944 Days, My Autavia Has Arrived

944 days after the original owner first contacted me about the Autavia that he had purchased in July 1969, it has arrived and is on my wrist. It's the version that came immediately after (or perhaps contemporaneous with) the Chronomatics; the version used on early marketing materials for Heuer's automatic chronographs. Notice the heavy red accents on the dial and the white chronograph second hand.

Absolutely thrilled with the watch and full of gratitude to the gentleman who contacted me a few days ago with the suggestion that it should be in my collection (and some others who helped along the way . . . you know who you are!!).

The story will be told . . . I already know the title of the posting . . . "Sometimes you chase the watches; sometimes the watches chase you."

This is one amazing hobby . . . one FANTASTIC community!!

Jeff
