I can't claim to understand it, but this seems to be the new approach to selling watches.- if one person wants one specific watch, he or she can go to Bamford and draw it up . . . one like the Harrods LE will cost you around £7,000
- if an "influencer" [Hodinkee, The Rake or Calibre11] or retailer [Harrods or Seddiqi] wants 100 to 150 watches, they call it a Limited Edition . . . expect the good ones to sell out quickly, then we see them in the after-market at nice premiums
- if a member of the public visits TAGHeuer.com or a local retailer, the choices for the Autavia or Carrera are much more limited (and much more boring)

Compare with the vintage-inspired watches offered by Omega, Breitling and Tudor, and it gets even worse.
