I have received a nice note from a friend at Phillips, confirming that Aurel did not mean to single out a specific watch or brand, but was commenting on a broader, more general type of situation.

: were conversations among members of the community and not on any
: public forum. The whispers were not about the bezel, but about
: the entire watch having been "made" circa 2010. So his
: whole monologue about a restoration, with the bezel being
: replaced, was kind of strange to me.
