Calibre 12 Troubles

Hello,

I have a 1153 with a calibre 12 that is giving me fits. After about 3 years of ownership and no service it stopped working all together and when winding the crown it sounded like spinning. I have it to a local watchmaker that I don’t know and after getting it back it now keeps time well but if I start the chrono the whole watch dies within a couple hrs even with 40-50 manual winds. I discussed it with the watchmaker and he said that ‘those old chronos aren’t meant to run continuously. Anybody else have similar issues? Also wouldn’t mind a watchmaker recommendation because that doesn’t sound right or me.

Jon
