... for TAGHeuer to get worse than the job one they did with Alec Monopoly, but I was wrong...

I started collecting watches around ten years ago with the modern TAGHeuer, my first one was a sporty Carrera Calibre16 racing dial (with red chronoghraph hands), then I went on with a Grand Carrera Ti2 RS Calibre 17 (that I still own and sometimes enjoy), and so on... wondering why that inspiration has gone.
