Heuer Carrera 7853 caseback engraving

Hi guys,
I‘ve bought a vintage Heuer Carrera 7853 and the caseback is engraved with „c.8178–4“
Does anyone have any idea why some Carreras have such an engraving and others don‘t and what‘s the meaning of it?
Hodinkee sold a similar watch with a similar engraving and they write on their website that the number refers to the country the watch had been delivered to originally.
Any ideas?
All the best
Gernot
