Re: CAL 12 auto movement

Your unusual Decompressor model Autavia had the standard silver hands with red inserts found on many other Autavias and most Monacos. If you want to return the watch to it's original condition you will need to buy on of the more common Autavias and break that. if you have all the hands or don't mind that it's not original then there are a number of Zodiacs, Bulovas and Hamiltons (+ some other makes) that can be bought more cheaply than a Heuer and have similar movements. Please note that you will then have a watch with the movement signed by another manufacturer and not all cal 11/12 have the same depth of pivot to mount the hands. Please also note that Cal11/12 hands have unusually large diameter mount so other types of chronograph hands will not fit.

Unless you desperately want a Decompressor Autavia I would sell that case on Ebay, let someone else do the work and buy a decent standard version. It will cost you less.
