Hello Mike,
My watch, (the one Steve wore in the movie) has definitely been worn! Crystal is cracked, return push button is jammed, and sticker is non existant. Not to mention the dirt etc in the watch when crystal was removed!! I am taking Don's word as to the authenticity of the watch. As far as why Steve didn't keep one, maybe he didn't like the watch, seeing as he was a rolex man.
