The Whole Catalog

I will admit that I don't usually do more than give a cursory look at these high end auction catalogs. I am not a retail buyer and I know I am not going to buy at these auctions so I have not really given the pretty pictures much thought other than to think they were...pretty pictures/eye candy. But you know what...I just took a look at some more of the Christies' catalog and most of the photos seem pretty obviously doctored. The surfaces of the metal and the dials all look like the skin on a models face in a Vogue add. I think the Skipper might be the worst of the bunch, but who knows. As JohnnieMac points out, the PN Daytona has had a very obvious facelift.

Thanks Jeff for giving Christies hell over this issue and thanks again to Carlo for pointing it all out.
